Selection criteria

The selection of children admitted to the Envol and Boussole centers is based on the following criteria. :

1) The date of registration on the waiting list and the payment of the $50 fee associated with it; 
2) The month in which the parents have requested services to begin; 
3) The requested age group:

1. Early Childhood Program:
   • Infants (12 to 19 months);
   • Toddlers (19 months to 3 years);
   • Preschool (3 to 5 years);
2. School-Age Child Care Program:
   • Kindergarten to Grade 6.
3. Pre-Kindergarten Program:
   • Pre-Kindergarten 3 years old;
   • Pre-Kindergarten 4 years old.

4) Prioritization process based on the child's situation:

1. Child of employees;
2. French-speaking sibling of a child enrolled in a program for 12 months;
3. Non-French-speaking sibling of a child enrolled in a program for 12 months;
4. Child currently enrolled in one of the centers for whom a request has been made for a program transfer or program addition within the same center;
5. Child currently enrolled in one of the centers for whom a transfer request has been made to another center;
6. Child with French-speaking parents;
7. Child from other families whose situation does not fall under any of the above categories.

A family may request to modify the start date of services only if the Envol and Boussole centers have not yet offered them a spot.

When a spot becomes available, a member of the administrative team will contact the first family on the waiting list by phone to offer it. It is the family's responsibility to notify the program of any changes to contact information (phone number(s)) or any anticipated extended absences. The family has 48 hours to confirm acceptance of the offered spot. If no response is received within 48 hours, it will be considered a refusal. If the family declines the offered spot, the registration will be canceled, and their name will be removed from the waiting list.
