For les centres Envol & Boussole, 2025 is a milestone year. It marks the organization’s 40th anniversary, as well as an evolution of its services through a refreshed brand image. Behind the name “Envol” and “Boussole” lies a powerful meaning that supports our mission. Envol & Boussole represents the balance between adventure and safety. It’s about moving forward fearlessly and exploring the world while having what you need to always find your way back.
“Envol” (Take flight) reflects the lightness of childhood. It’s about gaining momentum and setting off on an adventure to freely discover the world around us, accompanied by staff who are always there to support us. “Boussole” (Compass), on the other hand, guides children through every stage of their journey, from early childhood to pre-adolescence. It symbolizes the tools offered to help them navigate the world of knowledge and learning, encouraging them to explore with curiosity and confidence.

Our history at a glance
Les centres Envol & Boussole, formerly known as “La Société Pommes de Reinette Daycare,” was founded in 1985 by a group of parents from the Calgary area who wanted their children to thrive in a Francophone environment that reflects their culture.
The Southwest location was the first to open in 1985. Over the years, the demand for French-language childcare services grew, and our organization expanded. In 2011, we moved forward with the opening of a second centre: the Northeast location. Then, in 2016, we launched an out-of-school care program in Cochrane. Finally, in 2017, the Southeast location, formerly known as Alouette, joined our organization.
In 2024, our organization changed its name to highlight our new vision and to better serve our clients up to 12 years of age.

At les centres Envol & Boussole, we are proud to be able to count on the dedication and passion of the members of our great team. Our administrative team, 50 educators across our four locations, and support personnel work each day to ensure the well-being of the children who grow and thrive in our environment.
